For starters, quarterback David Carr has been replaced by Matt Schaub. Schaub has minimal experience but he is 6’5 with a big arm. After many teams showing interest over the years he will finally have a chance to start. Many are unsure with what he will bring to the field. In three years Schaub has only attempted 161 passes. Schaub was a gamble, but it might just pay off for the Houston Texans.
In the running back position, there is Ahman Green. Green is getting up there is age, especially for a running back, and his 2003 season of 1883 yards and 15 touchdowns is in the past. But if Green fully comes back fro his back injury that sidelined for almost all of 2005 he could still be very productive. Houston has also signed Ron Dayne to back Green up.
Some people are expecting a big year from is wide receiver Andre Johnson. Houston spent their number three overall pick on Johnson a few years ago with hopes for a superstar to emerge. And Andre Johnson does have all the makings of a superstar – he works very hard on his game in the off season, he is big and fast and physical while the ball is in the air. He also has some of the best hands in the league....
