Brian Urlacher was born on May 25, 1978 in Pasco, Washington. At 6 foot 4 inches and weighing 258 pounds, Urlacher is one of the most physical middle linebackers that the NFL has ever seen. Not only do many people feel that Urlacher is the best linebacker in the game, but some believe that he is also the top defensive player. While this may or may not be true, there is no denying that he brings a high level of intensity and desire to the football field. This can be seen in both the amount of games that his team wins as well as his individual statistics.
Urlacher attended Lovington High School in New Mexico, and led his team to a 14-0 record during his senior year. He did this by starring at offense, defense, and even special teams.
After most Division I schools passed him by, Urlacher decided to attend the University of New Mexico. Although he did not play at one of the perennial powerhouse programs, Urlacher made a name for himself over the course of several seasons. By the time he had become a senior the entire nation had taken notice, and he was named to several All American teams.
