You cannot use clenbuterol as a therapeutic drug, if you are living in the United States. Clenbuterol, commonly known as Clen, is the drug that is not approved for human use; it is only approved for horses in the United States.
The United States Food and Drug Administration approved the clenbuterol-based Ventipulmin Syrup, produced by Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., as a prescription-only drug for the treatment of airway obstruction in horses (0.8-3.2 m g/kg twice daily) in 1998. Clenbuterol is not meant for human use or for use in food-producing animals. As of fall, 2006, clenbuterol is not an ingredient of any therapeutic drug approved by the U.S. FDA.
But, outside the U.S., clenbuterol is often used as prescription drug for the treatment of bronchial asthma in humans. It is used as a powerful, long-lasting bronchodilator and tocolytic in many countries of the world. It is available in tablets (0.01 or 0.02 mg per tablet) and liquid preparations.
