There are a couple of things to think about when you are looking to start with one of these home business opportunities.
First of all, you need to think about how much you want to be making with your home business. If you want to quit your job right now and start living entirely off of your home business, it is best for you to put that fantasy away for a little while. The reality is that until you find an opportunity that is proven, and that you know you can work with, it just isnt going to happen. More realistically, you can look at supplementing your current income, or maybe even switching to a part time job instead of a full time job. Eventually you may be able to quit your day job entirely, but not just yet.
Secondly, you need to think about what it is that you are interested in doing as a home business. If you dont like your current nine to five job it doesnt make sense for you to quit only to take up a home business...
