If youre old enough to drive, you know its a pain in the butt to pull up to the pump and pay that $50 to drive those four hundred miles or so. What a lot of people dont realize is that you can actually save a little bit on gas if you change your driving habits. You should note that these driving habits arent that hard to follow at all. In fact, they are actually quite simple.
Check your tire pressure
If your tires tend to be low, this can cut down your MPG drastically. Its important that your tires have the correct PSI. To know exactly how much air your tires should have in them, you can note the number on the outside of the tire itself.
Dont weigh down your car
Imagine having to carry something in your backpack at school. The same concept goes along with a vehicle. The more you have to carry, the more your back is going to hurt. Try to use this same situation with a car. The more the car has to carry, the more gas its going to need to use to power itself down the road. So if youre carrying unnecessary items in your trunk that weigh a good 20-30 pounds, take them out immediately.
