When you stay in the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel room with a harbour view, then you get a harbour view with a vengeance. I had forgotten how beautiful it all was, until at ten o’clock at night the baggage porter pressed the automatic button to open the curtains, and there the full majesty of night time Hong Kong island Wanchai district was exposed to us.
Wakening in the morning the first thing we did was to sit up in bed as the curtains slowly opened, and we saw the busy harbour, boats, junks, and sampans rushing here and there, it was a highlight of our time in Hong Kong.
We were very pleased with our choice of hotel firstly because there were four of us, the children are 11 and 8, and the room was large enough to accommodate us all.
The restaurant we used for our meals, mainly breakfast but also dinner was Cafe Cool.
