New York City, New York is said to be the most popular city in the entire United States. It also is one of the most populated cities in the US with more than 8 million residents. New York City plays a very important role in the global economy. It is a very important location for the United Nations who works to bring peace to the world through international relationships. It is an area well known for financing, and trading. Some of the worlds highest skyscrapers are found in the business sector of New York City.
Due to the large amount of people in New York City, roads are very congested. Many people take modes of public transportation to commute including taxi cabs, buses, and the subway. It is not uncommon for residents of New York City to not own a vehicle.
New York City is known for being a trend setter from fashion to food. In 2005 it became the first city to ban trans fats from the restaurants. This will be effective by 2008.
