For the game lovers and Playstation fans, the waiting is over. The Playstation 3 is set for release. In Japan and the United States, the Playstation 3 will be launched on November 2006. On the other hand, gamers in the Australian and European areas shall have to wait until March 2007. Based on reports, the postponed release date is due to the scarcity of diodes used in the Blu-ray drives.
The Blu-ray drive is a key component of the Playstation 3. With it, PS3 owners can play games and movies. In addition, it can hold up to 54 GB of data. As such, the PS3 users would not have to look for extra media space.
According to statements of Sony, the Playstation 3 will be launched in two configurations: the Premium and the Basic. The Premium comes with a 60 GB upgradeable hard disk, Bluetooth SIXAXIS controllers, Silver-colored logo, Silver-colored trim, built-in Wi-Fi feature, and multiple memory card readers. Meanwhile, the Basic version has only a 20 GB upgradeable hard drive, Blu-ray drive, and controllers. Wi-Fi support and built-in memory card readers are not included. However, the user has the option to purchase adapters to enjoy the memory card reader support....
