Ronnie Lott was born on May 8, 1959 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From early on it was obvious that Lott was going to be a great athlete. He had all of the physical skills of a top notch player, while also combining this with plenty of knowledge of the game. To this day Lott is still remembered for the hard hits that he used to lay on opponents game in and game out.
After graduating from Eisenhower High School, Lott decided to take his game to the University of Southern California. During his time with the Trojans he made a name for himself as one of the best safetys to ever play at the school. He helped lead the Trojans to a National Championship in 1978, and he followed this up with back to back Rose Bowl appearances in 1979 and 1980. In 1980 Lott was the captain of the team, and was voted to the All American team at the end of the season. This great career led him to being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. This was seven years after USC inducted him into their Athletic Hall of Fame.
