Terrorism takes place all over the world, but most people dont pay too much attention to it unless it happens in their part of it. In most instances terrorism has political motivations attached to it. The plan can be some like walking up to a group of people with a bomb attached to your body. Others can be as detailed as the terrorist attacks on the United States on 09/11/01.
In most instances, those responsible for the acts of terrorism want to be recognized for their efforts. They want to get credit for the havoc they have engaged in. Even with the laws for those that take part in terrorism being strict, they still do so. For some organizations, the fact that they will be placed in jail for their acts is a sacrifice they are willing to make.
In order for a country to protect themselves against terrorism, they have to keep a good eye on what is going on. This can be difficult though as there are so many random ways to proceed with an act of terrorism. The government looks for suspicious behaviors and they have regulations in place that require individuals to get security clearance before they do can activities such as drive a semi truck.
