The infamous Las Vegas Strip is a four mile section of the road leading though where some of the worlds largest hotels, casinos and resorts are located. The Strip is all glitter and show. At the north end of the Strip, one will find the Stratosphere with Mandalay Bay heading up the South end. In 1931, the first casino was built along this highway and the first hotel went up in 1941. The success of these two establishments paved the way for numerous hotels and casinos to follow creating what began to be called the Strip in 1942. Each consecutive hotel to go up on the Strip was bigger and grander than the one before it with more entertainment and gambling options. Each of these hotels vied with one another to keep their gamblers in house and from wandering into the other casinos.
It never gets dark on the strip as there are millions of lights coming from the hotels and casinos lining the strips. Flashing and twinkling, they truly light up the sky for miles around the Strip.
